Soft-sealed gate valve is a type of valve widely used in urban water supply and drainage, sewage treatment, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. 

It takes the sealing performance of soft materials as the core, and achieves zero leakage sealing of the valve through the close fit between soft sealing materials 

and metal sealing surfaces. So, what are the main materials of soft-sealed gate valves?

The valve body of soft-sealed gate valves is usually made of cast iron, ductile iron or stainless steel. These materials not only have sufficient strength and corrosion 

resistance, but also meet the use requirements of valves under different working conditions. The channel design inside the valve body is streamlined, which helps 

to reduce fluid resistance, noise and vibration.


The gate is a key component of the soft-sealed gate valve. Its material is mostly stainless steel, cast steel or cast iron, and a soft sealing ring is installed inside. 

Soft sealing rings are generally made of soft materials such as rubber, such as nitrile rubber, EPDM, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), PPL (para-polyphenylene) 

and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber). These materials have good elasticity and corrosion resistance, can effectively prevent fluid leakage, 

and can adapt to the sealing requirements of different media.


In addition, the operating rod and transmission mechanism of the soft-sealed gate valve must also have a certain strength and corrosion resistance. 

The operating rod is usually made of stainless steel, and the transmission mechanism may be manual, electric or pneumatic to achieve remote or 

automatic control of the valve.
