The installation and maintenance methods of ball valve
The installation and maintenance methods of ball valve:
1. It must be confirmed that the pipeline and valve have been cleaned before operation.
2. The actuator operation of the valve drives the valve stem to rotate according to the magnitude of the input signal: when the valve is rotated forward 1/4 turn (90°), the valve is turned off. The valve opens when reversed by 1/4 turn (90°).
3. When the direction indicating arrow of the actuator is parallel to the pipeline, the valve is opened; when the arrow is perpendicular to the pipeline, the valve is closed.
The maintenance of ball valve:
If you want to have a longer service life, you need to meet the following factors: under normal working conditions, maintain a reasonable temperature/pressure ratio, and reasonable corrosion data.
Note: When the ball valve is closed, the fluid pressure in the valve body still exists.
Before servicing, remove the line pressure and keep the valve in the open position.
Before servicing, disconnect power or air supply.
Before servicing, disengage the actuator from the bracket.
1. Packing lock
If the packing culvert is slightly leaking, the stem nut must be locked.
NOTE: Do not lock, usually lock 1/4 ring to 1 ring and the leak will stop.
2. Replace the seat and seal
Leave the valve in the half-open position to flush out any hazardous substances that may be present inside or outside the valve.
Close the ball valve, remove the bolts and nuts from the flanges on both sides, and completely remove the valve from the pipe.
Disassemble the actuator, connecting bracket, lock washer, stem nut, butterfly shrapnel, glam, wear-resistant sheet, and stem packing in sequence.
Remove the bolts and nuts connecting the body cover, separate the bonnet from the valve body, and remove the bonnet gasket.
Make sure the ball is in the "closed" position, which will make it easier to remove it from the body, and then remove the seat.
Gently push the valve stem down through the hole in the valve body until it is completely removed, and then remove the O-ring and packing ring.
NOTE: Exercise caution to avoid scratching the stem surface and the valve packing seal.
Clean and inspect the portion of the inspected parts, replacement of seat and bonnet gaskets and seals with a spare parts kit is highly recommended.
Assemble in reverse order of disassembly.
To the specified torque, cross-lock the flange bolts.
Tighten the nut with the specified torque.
After installing the actuator, rotate the valve stem to drive the valve core to rotate the corresponding input signal to make the valve open and close.
If possible, after piping is installed, perform a seal pressure test and performance test on the valve according to the standard.
